Doing really good stuff.

True to its Congregational roots and denominational affiliation, Plymouth UCC is a democratically-organized church. All matters of policy, budget, or overall church direction are decided at the Annual Meeting of the members or at a specially-called congregational meeting.

Plymouth is organized into a Church Council, boards, committees, fellowships, and a task force in order to carry out its program and ministry. Church officers (Moderator, Clerk, Treasurer, and Assistant Treasurer), at-large Council members, and board and committee members are elected by the congregation.

The Church Council is the most representative body of the congregation outside the general membership. It is comprised of the officers, two members at-large, and the board and committee chairs. It meets monthly for general oversight of the church’s ministry and Christian Education program.

Diaconate is responsible for the spiritual life of the congregation and matters pertaining to worship, congregational life, and administration of the sacraments.

Outreach is responsible for the oversight and promotion of Plymouth’s ministry into the community and world as well as denominational relations.

Trustees are responsible for the ministry of the building and all matters related to the building and grounds.

Open and Affirming Committee coordinates our ministry with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals to welcome, celebrate, and grow diversity in the congregation and community.

Racial Equity Committee coordinates our ministry of anti-racism to inform the congregation, encourage activism, provide spiritual enrichment, and promote personal relationship development.

Stewardship conducts the annual pledge campaign for the support of Plymouth’s ministry and promotes an attitude of gratitude and generosity.

Music Committee oversees the music program along with the Music Director.

Task Force:

The Justice and Peace Task Force coordinates and promotes Plymouth’s ministry of social justice, liberation, and social change.

Plymouth Pilgrims  is the gathering of Plymouth’s retirees for purposes of fellowship, learning, and service. They meet for a potluck and program at noon on the third Tuesday of the month.

Youth groups for middle and high school youth promote fellowship, spiritual and social growth, and service.

Other ad hoc committees or task groups are appointed by the Church Council as needed.
